Hiking
If you like hiking, then Robbinsville NC is the place for you. Located in Graham County, the majority of which falls within the boundaries of the Nantahala National Forest, our Robbinsville NC cabin rentals are the perfect home base to explore the raw unspoiled woodlands of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are over 40 trails of varying terrain and level of difficulty. You can go on a 30 minute stroll with your family or plan an extensive backpacking trip into the abundant wilderness areas of Graham County. There are many different areas for hiking in and around our Robbinsville NC cabin rentals.

Hike at the Tsali Recreation area which has great camping, horseback riding, mountain bike trails, hiking trails, boating access, fishing, water skiing, picnicking, and nature study. Here the Mouse Branch Loop trail and the Thompson Loop Trail are fun trails to hike, as both are “loop” trails and rated easy to moderate.

The Panther Creek area also offers hiking close to Robbinsville NC, and has an 8 mile section of trails that are seldom used. Many of these trails are moderate and are great for the average hiker. In the Fontana Village hiking area there is the Lookout Rock Trail which is a 2 mile trail that is very strenuous and crosses several beautiful streams. The Lewellyn Cove Nature trail is also here and is an easier 1.6 mile trail. Avid hikers and backpackers will love this area as well because it has an abundance of backtrack and longer trails perfect for overnight camping and hiking trips. Hike at your own risk.

Be sure to check out the Santeetlah Creek area and the Joyce Kilmer Wilderness area for seasonal hunting and fishing along with hiking and camping. Our NC Mountain Cabin Rentals are nestled deep in the heart of the national forest, surrounded by an abundance of excellent places to go hiking, mountain biking, fishing and rafting.
